Religion and Faith

I was raised Roman Catholic. I attended Catholic School up until I was 10 years old. I then attended CCD, once I transferred to public school. I loved Catholic School. I appreciated being able to pray and talk about God while there receiving my regular education. Though, I thought Church was boring, we got to miss class to attend Mass and learn about the Sacred Catholic Traditions, miracles and stories of the bible. We were free to ask questions about our Faith and did not get judged while doing so.

Unfortunately , CCD was not as “safe”. Many, if not most, kids were there because their parents made them.  I was 12 years old and had a ton of questions but seriously got laughed at when I’d ask.

I did my two years in CCD, received my confirmation and that was it! I continued to attend weekly Mass. I believe I had what they call “Catholic Guilt” if I did not go! Do not get me wrong, I love my Faith but I was terribly lost and had so many more questions.

I really felt God’s hand pulling me to move to Southern California. So once I turned 18, I did! My parents had a hard time but I certainly was not going to argue with the big Man. This is when & where I “grew up”. I’ve learned so much through all of my Catholic and non-Catholic Christian friends. I went to several conferences and even became involved in a few ministries. One of which was Faith Formation. I taught Catechism to teens and made it fun. Well, at least I thought I did! The story does not end there. In fact, it really was just the beginning for me.

Stick with me as I unfold Catholic Christian Traditions, Faith share, take steps towards becoming a better Christian and unravel God’s hand in our lives.
